Anatomy of a viral video (and why you might be getting rick-rolled soon)
Last night, we got back late after a night of hanging out with friends and I decided to indulge in my newly created reddit mashup subreddit. While looking at related features of a few DJs on youtube, I stumbled upon a mashup of Rick Astley and Nirvana and decided to post it to reddit.com/r/music before I went to bed. I woke up the next morning and at lunch, a friend mentioned that my mindless video submission had sprung to the top of reddit. Just now I hear that it gets picked up by a leading blog (Mashable.com) and then I see that it's a trending topic on Twitter. In short, I just won the internet today.
